Plateau Governor, Jang Set Free On Bail

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has released on administrative bail, a former governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, whom the agency detained.

Jang’s release was published on January 17, 2018 By Fikayo Olowolagba.

The EFCC had interrogated Jang for several hours over the alleged misappropriation of public funds while he was in office.

The immediate past governor was previously investigated by a committee instituted by the incumbent governor, Simon Lalong, on claims that Jang had misappropriated billions of naira.

Confirming his release to journalists today, Wednesday, Jang’s media aide, Clinton Garuba said his principal was released on Tuesday night after several hours in detention, adding that the ex-governor was released on administrative bail.

“Part of the conditions for the administrative bail is the provision of a surety who must hold the position of a director in the civil service.”
