Tragedy As Kidnapped Taraba Lawmaker Was Found Dead

A kidnapped lawmaker, Hon Hosea Ibi, who represented Takum I Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly has been found dead.

Ibi, who was elected to the House in 2015, was kidnapped on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his home in Takum.

Naija News gathered that he was found dead in the bush around Kwari Village, along Kashimbila Road.

It was learnt that he was killed by his abductors after an undisclosed amount was paid as ransom for his release.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. David Misal, confirmed the news to ThISDAY.

The Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon Saleh Sa’ad, confirmed the death of the lawmaker.

Saddened by the tragic incident, a former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Mark Useni, said the entire people of Takum and the entire state have been thrown into mourning.

Useni said that the people of Takum and his colleagues in the House were looking forward to his release only to be shocked by the news of his death.

The remains of Ibi have been deposited at the Takum General Hospital.
