1. Forget about 2019 presidential ambition –  Bakare tells Buhari

Former running mate to President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2011 elections, Pastor Tunde Bakare has urged President Buhari to drop the idea of seeking a second term in office during the 2019 general elections.

He however advised the president to embark on restructuring Nigeria saying it is time to renegotiate Nigeria’s union.

2. President Buhari meets National Assembly leadership over Benue killings

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday met with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara over the crisis in Benue State and other parts of the country. The meeting was held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

3. Army takes delivery of Innoson military vehicles

The Nigerian Army has taken delivery of manufactured by the indigenous local manufacturer, Innoson vehicles.

The vehicles are expected to be deployed into Operation LAFIYA DOLE theatre of operations.

4. Bakare clarifies declaration of presidential ambition

Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Latter Rain Assembly Church, Ogba, Lagos, and former vice presidential running mate to President Muhammadu Buhari in 2011 elections, has clarified issues surrounding his political ambition.

He stated that his 2018 prophecies where he talked about his political ambition doesn’t automatically translate to contesting the 2019 presidential elections.

5. NYSC suspends orientation camp in Benue state

The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has announced that the planned batch B, stream 2 orientation exercise would no longer hold in Benue state.

The Corps promised to announce a new date for the orientation.

6. Mama Taraba pledges loyalty to the All Progressives Congress

The Minister of women affairs, Aisha Alhassan, has denied speculations that she was planning to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The minister also pledged allegiance to President Muhammadu Buhari, and the ruling APC.

7. Nigeria Air Force receives more aircraft for Boko Haram war

The Nigerian Air Force on Sunday in Kaduna displayed five new Super Mushshak aircraft purchased by the Federal Government from Pakistan to fight the Boko Haram insurgency.

This now brings the number to 10 trainer aircraft supplied by Pakistan to Nigeria to aid the counter-terrorism operations.

8. Why El-Zakzaky agreed to press parade – Falana

Femi Falana, (SAN), counsel to the Shiite leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky has revealed that his client agreed to the press parade by the Department of State Services (DSS) because he assumed he would be granted freedom.

There were rumours last week that El-Zakzaky had died in custody of security operatives.

9. Udoma promises better economic performance this year

Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udo Udoma, has expressed optimism that the Nigerian economy will improve significantly this year.

He said indicators are positive about the growth of the economy.

10. Fulani herdsmen are killers, not victims

The Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, has said any blackmail and propaganda employed by cattle breeders to turn themselves into victims will fail, saying the herdsmen are the killers and not victims.
