Fuel Scarcity Looms As Marketers Shut Stations In Lagos

1. Fuel queues resurface in major Nigerian cities

Barely a week after the motorists in the country heaved a sigh of relief over fuel situations, the fuel queues seem to have returned to Abuja, Lagos and other cities in the country.

The NNPC has however advised against panic buying, stressing it has enough supply of the product to last a month.

2. Libya returnees protest non payment of stipends in Edo state

Some Libya returnees who were recently repatriated to the country by the federal government have demanded the payment of their monthly stipends as promised by the government.

The senior special assistant to the Edo state government on anti trafficking issues, Comrade Solomon Okodua, has however stated the stipends can only be received after proper profiling and setting up bank accounts in the country.

3. Group wants Miyeti Allah declared terrorist group

Some politicians, traditional rulers and other stakeholders from the South South, South West, Middle Belt and South East, yesterday, urged the Federal Government to declare Miyetti Allah a terrorist organisation.

They also called on the federal government to restructure the country to ensure growth and development of the country.

4. Ambode reshuffles cabinet, drops three commissioners

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Thursday reshuffled his cabinet, dropping three commissioners and appointing five new ones.

5. NYSC releases 2017 batch B, stream 2 orientation time table

The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced date for orientation camp of 2017 Batch B, stream 2 Corps members.

The orientation course will hold between Tuesday 16th January 2018, to Monday 5th February 2018.

6. Benue organizes mass burial for victims of Fulani herdsmen killings

No fewer than 73 persons recently killed in Logo and Guma LGAs of Benue State were on Thursday given mass burial in Makurdi, the State capital.

7. We won’t be intimidated, NLC tells Gov. El-Rufai

The Nigerian Labour Congress, under the leadership of Comrade Ayuba Waba, has vowed not be intimidated by the presence of security operatives, acting on the orders of Governor Nasiru El-Rufai.

They promised to resist plans by the Kaduna state government to sack teachers who failed the competency test organized by the government.

8. FG destroys Don Waney’s mansion

The Federal Government has ordered the demolition of the mansion belonging to the ferocious militant, Igwedibia Johnson, aka Don Waney.

The mansion located at 34, in Omoku, the headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers was demolished on Tuesday under the supervision of the military and soldiers.
