Injured Kwara United Player And Official Discharged From Clinic

Management of the Ilorin based team, Kwara United football club, have disclosed that those who sustained injuries on Wednesday, when the team’s bus was involved in an accident along the Lagos-Ibadan express way have been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment.

As reported by Naija News, the club’s players and officials narrowly club escaped death following the accident involving their team bus on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when the team were returning home from Lagos where they featured in the Nigeria National League Super 4 tournament.

According to information disclosed by the club’s chairman, Ladi Thompson, a player, Stephen Alfred, and the club’s welfare officer, Lukman Ijaya, have both been discharged from the hospital.

The club’s camera man, who sustained injuries to his head, is however still hospitalized but responding well to treatment.

Thomspon said, “They are all fine now. They have been discharged except one person – the cameraman. He has a cut on the head. That is the only one remaining at the hospital. “The accident will not affect their chances of playing in the forthcoming games.

“The government has been making a lot of efforts. They have been giving assistance and support.

“The fans visited them at the hospital, they are aware of the development. All the stakeholders are aware of what is going on.

“The fans came for the unveiling ceremony (of 17 new players) today. We were all together. We are on the same page. They have no cause to worry about the performance of the team.”
