Egg Production Scheme To Produce 1m Jobs – Audu Ogbeh

Minister for Agriculture and rural development, Audu Ogbeh has expressed his support for the National Egg Production Scheme targeted at providing fifty million table eggs daily for local consumption.

The scheme, set to span a period of five years is to improve egg production, aid economic diversification, export and processing egg into egg powder for confectioneries and pharmaceutical use.

The Minister while addressing newsmen during a meeting with the national egg production scheme in Abuja assured citizens that the scheme would also provide about one million jobs.

As a result, Ogbeh is soliciting the support of the Central Bank of Nigeria to provide N10 million to kick start the scheme as well as an approval from the Bank of Agriculture as the participating financial institution.
