All is now set for President Muhammadu Buhari’s scheduled visit to Abia state today where he is expected to attend a mega rally organized by the ruling All Progressives Party, (APC).
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, National chairman of the APC, Chief John Oyegun, APC governors, legislators, as well as many other party chieftains are expected to attend the mega rally which will hold at the Umuahia Towship Stadium on School Road in the state capital.
Speaking earlier on Monday, the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Benedict Godson, disclosed the Abia mega really will be the first APC rally in the South in 2018 and it will be used to send a clear signal of intention of the party’s readiness to take over political leadership in the state and in the entire South East.
Ahead of the President’s arrival, Punch reports that all major entry and exit points to Umuahia have been taken over by heavily armed and stern-looking security operatives who are manning the various points to ensure total safety of lives and properties as well as ensure maintenance of law and order.
