Rivers Exco Approves 2018 Budget Presentation To Assembly

The Executive Council of the Rivers State has approved the 2018 budget for presentation to the State House of Assembly.

The approval was made known on Thursday, by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Emma Okah.

Wile speaking with journalists after the first State Executive Council meeting for 2018, Okah revealed that the Council discussed the drafts of the 2018 budget comprehensively, from all the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

He said conclusions have been made for the formal presentation by Governor Nyesom Wike on the floor of the Assembly, adding that the Council was displeased with the instances where some communities fail to protect public infrastructure.

He cautioned that communities that permit the destruction of government’s infrastructure would face dire consequences, while warning that any community which fails to protect contractors executing projects will lose such projects.

Meanwhile, Governor  Nyesom Wike assured that his government would continue to provide quality projects and programmes that will enhance the lives of Rivers people, Okah said.
