Man arrested with 114 bags of indian hemp in Ogun

A suspected Indian hemp merchant identified as Noah Olaore,  has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.

The suspect was apprehended with 114 bags of the illegal drug.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect was arrested on December 29, 2017 at the entrance of the Moshood Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta.

Mr. Oyeyemi said: “Men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested one Noah Olaore ‘m’ with one hundred and fourteen bags of weeds suspected to be Indian Hemp.”

He added that: “Upon the information, a team of FSARS operatives led by Inspr. Adeyemi Akeem were detailed to go after the hoodlums and they accosted them in front of M.K.O Abiola stadium where the suspect was arrested with the exhibits,” Mr. Oyeyemi said.

The Ogun PPRO said further investigation led the police officers to Igbo-Ora in Oyo State where more bags of the illicit substance were disccovered.

The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has directed that a full investigation be carried out into the issue, Mr. Oyeyemi said.
