CAF 2017 Awards: Nigeria’s Representatives Hope For Good Outing

– All arrangement in place for the CAF 2017 awards in Accra, Ghana.

– The annual award rewards football excellence both in the male and female category.

Glamour and Anxiety as CAF awards take center stage tonight in Accra.

The 2017 edition of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) annual awards ceremony comes up Thursday in Accra, the capital city of Ghana.

The ceremony, which rewards football excellence, kicks off by 9:00pm (WAT) at the State House Banquet Hall, Accra, Ghana.

Red carpet however starts from 6:00pm.

 

Nigeria’s Kanu Nwankwo as well as all other previous winners of the prestigious African Footballer of The Year award are expected to be present at the ceremony.

For the main event, individual award categories are: Men’s Player, Women’s Player, Coach of the Year, National Team of the Year and Club of the Year.

The awards will also feature Most Promising Talent, as well as the Africa XI.

 

The final 3-man shortlist for the Men’s Player of the Year award as drawn by the CAF Technical & Development Committee, CAF Media Experts Panel and Independent Media and TV Consultants are Mohamed Salah (Egypt and Liverpool), Sadio Mane (Senegal and Liverpool) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon and Dortmund).

 

The final three nominees for the Women’s Player of the Year are Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala, South Africa’s Chrestina Kgatlana and Cameroon’s Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene.

Coach Gernot Rohr of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Egypt boss Hector Cuper and Wydad Athletic Club coach, L’Hussein Amoutta make up the list for the final Men’s Coach of the Year shortlist.
