Abductors Of Taraba Lawmaker Demand N75m Ransom

Taraba lawmaker kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

The abductors of Hon. Hosea Ibi, the member representing Takum I in the Taraba State House of Assembly, have allegedly demanded N75m for his release.

Hon. Hosea Ibi was kidnapped last Saturday night in his hometown, Takum, by unknown gunmen.

A family source anonymously told Punch on Thursday that the kidnappers contacted a family friend, who is also a lawmaker in the State House of Assembly, to demand their ransom.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP David Misal, when contacted said the Taraba State Police Command was not aware of the ransom being demanded by the kidnappers.

However, Misal urged the family not to pay any ransom to the kidnappers, saying the police were working assiduously to secure the release of Hon. Hosea Ibi.
