President Buhari Reacts To Benue Killings

Buhari condemns Benue killings.

President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom over the massacre which occurred in Guma and Logo Local Government Areas of the state on New Year day.

Governor Ortom, who wept at the scene of the incidents on Tuesday when herdsmen killed 20 persons and left many with severe injuries, called on Buhari to protect his people from the marauding herdsmen.

Buhari, who described the attacks as “wicked and callous”, assured the governor and people of the state that relevant security agencies have been directed to arrest the perpetrators of the attacks and prevent further attacks.

“This is one attack too many, and everything must be done to provide security for the people in our rural communities,” the president said.

President Buhari also commiserated with families of the victims and wished the injured speedy recovery.
