APC condemns killings in Kwara, Rivers, Kaduna
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed criticisms over the attacks on worshipers on New Year day in three different states across the nation.
Speaking on the fatal attacks in Taiwo Isale area of Ilorin, Kwara State and Omoku community in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, the APC described the assaults as gruesome and barbaric.
The ruling Party also decried the killing of the traditional ruler of Numana, Gambo Makama and his pregnant wife by unidentified gunmen on New Year’s Day in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, APC stated that the attacks are shameful, while also extending their prayers to the victims as well as their friends, families.
The party also condole with the governments and people of the affected states.
The APC said: “It is unfortunate that when people were looking forward to the New Year, they were killed and maimed in such gruesome, barbaric and needless manner. There can be no justification for these evil, wicked and callous attacks.”
Consequently, the party, therefore, charged relevant security agencies to carry out full investigation to uncover the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to book.
