A legislator during the Second Republic, Junaid Mohammed has stated that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has not achieved much as a result of the activities of the “cabal” in his government.

The erstwhile lawmaker said Buhari is not in control of the control, as influential persons have taken over the mantle of leadership of the Nigeria.

He made the allegations in an interview with Daily Sun, while also cautioning Buhari to improve and judiciously lead Nigerians in 2018.

Mohammed said: “The economy is in tatters; Boko Haram is bouncing back, government can’t address fuel scarcity, everything is in bad shape.

“I want Mr. President to govern this country effectively. He is not in charge, a cabal is running things on his behalf.

“I would want President Buhari to fix his eyes on providing leadership and lessening the hardship in the country, instead of pursuing a re-election agenda.

“His government hasn’t done much in the last few years because of the activities of cabal in his government.”

Mohammed also urged the president to reorganise his cabinet in 2018, as a way of improving effective leadership, noting that such would bring about new life into governance and also help the president deliver on his promises.
