Ex-Commissioner arrested hours to his thanksgiving

An ex-Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Ondo State Mr. Femi Adekanmbi, has been arrested by the state policemen in Owo, headquarters of the Owo Local Government Area of the state.

The ex- commissioner who served under the recent past administration of Olusegun Mimiko was arrested on Thursday.

Adekanmbi, has been said to be a strong supporter of Mimiko and the party leader in Owo community.

According to a source, Adekanmbi, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, was apprehended by police officers hours before the annual thanksgiving organised by him and the inauguration of a water fountain he constructed in the town.

According to the source, “The arrest of the former commissioner almost caused crisis in the town as his political followers were accusing the state governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, for the arrest of their leader a few hours to the inauguration of the newly constructed water fountain.”
