1. Buhari’s son stable in Abuja hospital after power bike accident

Yusuf Buhari reportedly broke his limb and sustained head injuries as a result of an accident involving his power bike.

He is however said to be responding well to treatment.

2. PDP and APC trade words over fuel scarcity

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the federal government and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of been responsible for the on-going fuel scarcity across the country.

3. Fayose warns Osinbajo not to join the liars in Buhari’s government.

Governor Fayose of Ekiti state, has urged vice president Yemi Osinbajo not to join the band wagon of liars in Buhari’s administration.

He said this in reaction to words credited to the vice president in which he said the NNPC and not the federal government bears the cost of fuel subsidy.

4. Osun state workers embark on indefinite strike action

Civil servants in Osun State on Wednesday commenced their earlier announced indefinite strike over modulated salary scheme.

The workers reportedly gathered in their numbers and stormed the government house located at Abere, Osogbo, the State capital.

Governor Rauf Aregbesola has however appealed for patience from the workers, claiming all issues surrounding salaries and pensions would be resolved by March 2018.

5.  United states to sell war planes to Nigeria

Stuart Symington, United States (US) ambassador to Nigeria, has presented letters of offer and acceptance (LOA) to the Nigerian air force (NAF) for the planned sale of the A29 Super Tucano warplane.

He was received by Sadique Abubakar, chief of air staff, at NAF headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.

6. Buhari sets up 17-man panel on Libya slave trade

President Muhammadu Buhari has set up a 17-man fact-finding mission, which is expected to open talks with Libyan authorities on how to stop the exodus of Nigerians to Libya.

The panel has 38 days to evacuate all Nigerians trapped in Libya.

7. 36 prisoners escape in Akwa Ibom jail break

Thirty-six prisoners escaped from the Ikot Ekpene Prison in Akwa Ibom state in a well-coordinated operation by the inmates.

Four inmates died in the process of the jail break while seven of the prisoners were recaptured.

8. Ex-boxer beats wife to death over Christmas food

Disagreement over Christmas food, which eventually led to a fight has resulted in a man beating his wife to death in Anambra state.

The man has reportedly fled the community when he discovered his wife was dead.

9. George Weah set to become Liberia’s 25th president

Ex football star, George Weah according to unofficial reports, has defeated incumbent vice president Joseph Boakai in the presidential run off of Liberia’s election.

The country’s electoral body will officially announce the winner of the elections today.

10. Liverpool make Virgil Van Dijk most expensive defender

Virgil Van Dijk has will officially join Liverpool on January 1 after signing from Southampton for £75 million.

Manchester City were also in contention for the Dutch centre back.
