Cholera Kills Seven Killed In Enugu

-Rapid response team has been deployed in affected areas of Nasarawa State, to prevent the spread of cholera and treat affected persons.

4 die, 34 diagnosed of cholera in Nasarawa

An outbreak of cholera has resulted in the death of four persons in Shege ward of Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The death cholera cases were confirmed in a statement made by the  Nasarawa State Ministry of Health in Lafia, the state capital, noting that the individuals died while on their way to the primary healthcare facility in the ward.

Thirty-four other cases were also confirmed in the area in the statement signed by the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Musa Abdullahi.

Abdullahi stated that “the remaining 34 persons are in a stable condition and are receiving adequate treatment.

“The state government has deployed a team of medical personnel in the area to commence the distribution of drugs to the people.”

The Director of Public Health in the ministry, Dr Ibrahim Adamu, who headed the medical team, assured residents that government would leave no stone unturned to prevent the spread of the disease outbreak in the state, Abdullahi noted.

He said a rapid response and investigation team has also been deployed in the area to tender to affected persons and to stopthe further spread of the disease to other parts of the community.
