One Killed As Gunmen Kidnap Kaduna School Rector

Suspected kidnappers kill man in Niger State.

Tragedy struck in Zazzaga community in the Munya Local Government Area of Niger State, as a 54-year-old man, Musa Adamu, was shot dead by suspected kidnappers on Tuesday while trying to rescue his son’s wives that were abducted.

According to Northern City News, the gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday attacked the community and kidnapped three people.

Naija News gathered that the incident took place at Gidan Banobi Village, about 10 kilometres from Sarkin Pawa, the headquarters of Munya council at about 2am.

The incident happened barely 72 hours after the community paid about N10m to regain the freedom of five out of 10 persons that were earlier abducted by some gunmen.

Following the incessant activities of Kidnappers in the community, residents had been fleeing the area.

The district head of Zazzaga, Musa Umoru, who confirmed the latest attack, said the attackers were earlier repelled from Sabon-Gidan by members of the local vigilance group before they went to Banobi village to perpetrate their crimes.

He said, “These villages are among the few villages that the people have yet to move out, people have relocated from every other village in this community in the last one month.

“As I speak with you, people are moving their property to neighbouring villages because the government has refused to come to our aid. My people have sold everything they have to pay ransom, including farm produce.”

Umoru revealed that the entire Zazzaga community and about 50 other villages with a population of over 1,000 inhabitants had only one police outpost.

The Public Relations Officer of the police command, Peter Sunday, therefore, said a combined team of police and military operatives had been drafted to the communities to rescue those in captivity.
