FRSC Deploys Officers And Equipment To Ensure Safety During Yuletide

FRSC canvasses safety on Nigerian roads during celebrations.

The Ore unit command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), says 100 personnel, four patrol vehicles, two towing vehicles and an ambulance has been deployed on the Benin-Ore expressway to ensure safety during the Christmas and new year celebrations.

This was disclosed by the unit commander, Mr Philip Ozonnandi, on Wednesday in Ore.

According to him, the steps taken by his command is to ensure the free flow of traffic and safety of lives and property on the route during the yuletide.

Ozonnandi further warned the drivers against drunk driving and overspeeding which he identified as major causes of road accidents.

Drivers of heavy duty vehicles are also urged to park off the road and take a rest when tired before continuing their journeys.

He urged the motorists to obey FRSC officials who flag them down for routine checks.

He also gave out 122 as a toll free emergency line which the public can use to report any incident or emergency on the road.

The nation wide patrol will start on Wednesday according to the FRSC boss.
