Fuel Scarcity Looms As Marketers Shut Stations In Lagos

1. PENGASSAN suspends strike action

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has suspended its nationwide strike.

The industrial action was suspended following the intervention of Ibe Kachikwu, minister of state for petroleum resources, and Chris Ngige, minister of labour.

2. Buhari extends tenure of service chiefs

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the extention of the tenure of the country’s service chiefs.

The service chiefs are Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin, chief of defence staff; Tukur Yusufu Buratai, chief of army staff, Ibok-EteIkwe Ibas, chief of naval staff; and Sadique Baba Abubakar, chief of air staff.

3. President Buhari cancels Niger trip

President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled his scheduled trip to Niger Republic.

He would however, send a delegation made up of the three governors of Katsina, Yobe and Borno states along with the minister of state, foreign affairs to represent him.

4. Court of appeal sacks Kogi senator

A court of appeal sitting in Abuja, on Monday, declared the seat for the Kogi East senatorial district vacant.

Justice Abdul Aboki, held that, the previous judgement of the court of appeal which brought Senator Attai Aidoko to the Senate was in error, hence its nullification.

5. Federal government accuses David Mark of illegally acquiring Senate President’s official residence.

The Federal Government has accused a former Senate President, David Mark, of illegally acquiring his then official residence as his private property.

He has also been issued a 21-days quit notice by the government.

6. Marketers blame short fall in supply for fuel scarcity.

Independent marketers have blamed inability to load petroleum products for the current fuel scarcity been experienced in the country.

The NNPC has however warned against panic buying by members of the public.

7. IPOB disagrees with Ohanaeze over Biafra agitations

Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have accused the leadership of Ohanaeze of working contrary to the mission of actualizing Biafra republic.

It maintained that they are not calling for war by demanding a referendum.

8. Gun men kill Army colonel in Benue

Some gunmen reportedly killed a senior military officer, who was on transit along the Katsina-Ala-Takum Expressway within Benue State on Sunday.

The Benue state governor, Ortom, however described the deceased as a victim of armed robbery attack.

9. Burna Boy granted N100,000 bail over alleged involvement in Mr.2Kay’s robbery.

Embattled singer, Burna Boy was on Monday, interrogated, detained and charged to court alongside four members of the gang earlier arrested.

He was later granted bail to the tune of one hundred  thousand naira.

10. Arsenal want Iwobi to sign new deal before World cup

Arsenal have put a new deal on the table before Nigerian striker, Alex Iwobi.

Though he still has three years left on his current contract, the gunners want to tie him down to a new deal before Russia 2018 World cup.
