The assailants was said to have ambushed and killed Mama, claiming that he exposed members of a crime group wreaking havoc along the Keffi-Karu-Abuja area.

Speaking on Sunday, the state chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Muhammed Hussaini said the assailant invaded the deceased’s home, then lead him to a nearby bush where he was murdered.

He said MACBAN officials, vigilance group members and police Special Anti- robbery Squad helped in the recovery of Mama’s body which was later buried in Karu.

According to him, “the deceased had passed important information that assisted security operatives in tracking down armed robbers and cattle rustlers in Keffi, Karu and Abuja areas.”

“He had also provided useful tips that had prevented conflicts between herders and farmers in Keffi and Karu local government areas of the state before he was abducted and killed by the gunmen,” Hussaini stated.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command, DSP Idrisu Kennedy, told newsmen that “one person had been arrested in connection with the incident.

“The command is doing everything possible to arrest the other culprits and bring them to justice.”
