FCT Mininster urges residents to devise strategies to avoid disasters

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Muhammad Bello has presented relief materials to victims of flood disasters.

The donation exercise was put together by the National Emergency Management Agency to ease victims of the recent flood disaster and some other disasters in some areas of FCT during the year.

During the exercise which was held in Gwagwa, Abuja, Mr.Bello represented by the Secretary, Area Council Services Secretariat, Adamu Bappah, called on FCT residents to collectively adopt strategies to forestall catastrophe in their communities.

The Minister disclosed the government’s resolve to care for victims of disasters, noting that it is also vital that residents guide against avoidable disasters.

The Director General of NEMA thanked the FCT Minister for his support, while expressing that the agency is focused on improving its coordination capacity with stakeholders.
