PDP Warns Alao-Akala, Folarin To Return To The Party

The Peoples Democratic Party has urged a former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, and a former Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin, who defected from the party to the All Progressives Congress to return to the party.

The PDP warned the former party members that the APC would use and dump them, as the ruling party would not see them true APC members.

The PDP called on aAlao-Akala and Folarin to join other chieftains to save Nigeria from the ruling APC.

The opposition party’s advice was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Diran Odeyemi.

Odeyemi said the politicians would not achieve much in the APC as it would never consider them as stakeholders in their party.

The PDP enjoined them to follow the steps of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; former Governor Rashidi Ladoja and Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, who previously left the PDP but have returned.

The PDP maintained that many politicians that left the PDP for the APC before 2015 general elections were regretting their actions because the ruling party demeaned them after riding on their support to secure power.

Describing Akala and Folarin as PDP’s gifts to Nigerians, the PDP stressed that Alao-Akala and Folarin had nothing to gain from the “fast sinking ship of the APC,” saying the APC would celebrate defectors but would later dump them.
