Bride Attacks Husband With Razor Blade After Wedding

A 28-year-old newly wedded bride, Shafa Muhammad, allegedly attacked her husband with a razor blade, injuring him on the head at their resident, Arkillar Liman Area, Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The incident occurred on December 16, just three weeks after the couple got married.

A close family source, anonymously disclosed that Shafa was allegedly forced to marry Umar Shehu and attacked the latter after he went to her room to seal the marriage.

“The husband went into her room to consummate the marriage when she attacked him with a razor blade.

“He sustained injuries on the head as a result of the attack,’’the source said.

The spokesman of the Sokoto State Police Command, ASP Ibrahim Abarass while confirming the incident said the husband had been treated and discharged from the hospital because the injury was not a threat to life.

Abarass, however, said the wife had been detained by the police and would be prosecuted after investigation.

He therefore, advised parents to always consider the wishes of their children before getting them married.
