40-Yr-Old Security Guard Docked For Allegedly Raping Teenager

Security guard arraigned for raping 16-yr-old girl.

A 40-year-old security guard, Salisu Yakubu, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ on Friday for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl.

The prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu told the court that the accused, who resides at No. 1, Chike Street, Ipaja, Lagos, committed the offence on December 10, at the his residence.

Ogu said that the girl was sent on an errand by her mother when the accused, who lives on the same street, waylaid her.

He said, “The accused covered her mouth and carried her to his room where he raped her.”

The prosecutor told the court further that the girl cried till she got home and informed her mother who reported the matter to the police.

He said that the offence contravened Section 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015(Revised).

However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The chief magistrate, Mrs. Taiwo Akanni, granted the accused N200,000 bail with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till January 31, 2018, for further hearing.
