Indian Police arrests Nigerian found with drugs worth N25,142,400

A Nigerian along with his accomplice have been arrested by Indian police over alleged drug dealings.

According to reports from India on Tuesday, heroin worth Rs 45 lakh (about N25,142,400.00) was found with Ikenna Okoye (33) and Har Govind Singh (33).

Hence, the Narcotics Cell of Crime Branch recovered the drugs from the suspects after which they were immediately arrested from the Vikas Puri area of India last week, Police reported.

“Fine quality heroin weighing 380 grams, worth Rs 45 lakh in the international market, was recovered from the duo.”

“The Narcotics agency was said to have received information that Singh, a drug-peddler, procured heroin from Okoye who live at Uttam Nagar,” India.com reported.

The official added that Okoye, is an Anambra state, who reached India in July 2012 on a tourist visa but “fell in bad company and to earn quick and easy money started supplying drugs in the area of Uttam Nagar and Dwarka.”
