The newly elected national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has resumed duties at the party secretariat in Abuja.

The handing over ceremony was done at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja yesterday.

2. #EndSARS protests continue across major cities in Nigeria

The campaign against the harassment suffered in the hands of SARS operatives by Nigerians continue to gather support.

Many Nigerians took to the streets of Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan and other cities to stage a peaceful protest against SARS.

3. NYSC releases 2017 Batch B stream 2 orientation guidelines

The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said its 2017 Batch B, stream 2 Corps members will begin their orientation course on Tuesday, 16th January 2018.

The orientation course would be held between Tuesday 16th January 2018, to Monday 5th February 2018.

Reports say the Ikoyi whistle blower will be paid his full commission by the federal government this week.

There had been controversies surrounding the legitimate whistle blower and the exact amount to be paid as commission.

5. Jonathan appeals for reconciliation and unity after PDP convention

Former President Goodluck Jonathan is reaching out to aggrieved members of the PDP in the aftermath of the party’s national elective convention which held over the weekend.

6. Man sells daughter, neighbour’s child to raise funds for burial.

A man identified as Kingsley Oriaku has admitted selling his daughter and his neighbour’s daughter for the sum of N310,000.

He confessed using the money from the sales to finance the burial of his father-in-law.

7. Terrorists attack New York sub way station

A suicide bomb which detonated near the New York’s Time Square has injured at least four people including the suicide bomber.

Police have confirmed that a 27-year-old man had been detained as a prime suspect in the attempted terrorist attack.

8. APC running a broken government – Secondus

The newly elected national chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has accused the APC led administration of running a broken government since 2015.

He stated this at the handing over ceremony which held at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja, yesterday.

9. New kings move to depose Olubadan 

The Obas-in-Council, have issued a 21-day deposition notice on the Olubadan of Ibadan over alleged denigration of Olubadan stool.

The Obas-in-Council comprises the new nine kings installed by the Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

10. Salah emerges BBC African footballer of the year

Egyptian, Mohammed Salah of Liverpool, has been announced as the new BBC African player of the year.

He beat others like Victor Moses of Nigeria, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon to clinch the prize.
