Damishi Sango freed after three days in kidnappers’ den.

A former minister of sports under the Obasanjo administration and the Plateau state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Mr. Damishi Sango, has regained his freedom from kidnappers.

Recall Sango, alongside his entourage, were abducted by unknown gunmen at Jere along the Kaduna-Abuja highway on their way to Abuja to attend the national convention of the PDP which held over the weekend.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, had during his speech at the convention, called on security agencies to intensify efforts at rescuing the kidnapped PDP chieftain.

The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N100m but have now released him, his son, his driver, Emmanuel Mangnin as well as another unidentified individual, three days after they were kidnapped.

Their release was confirmed by the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Plateau state, John Akans.

“The abductees regained their freedom on Sunday evening and are currently in a private residence in Abuja.

“Their abductors abandoned their vehicle by the roadside where it was discovered.” He said.
