1. Fuel scarcity: NUPENG blames government for shortage of petroleum products

NUPENG has blamed the state of the nation’s refineries for the shortage of petroleum products currently being experienced in the country.

The union further stated that its members are working and lifting available products.

2. President Buhari signs 3 bills into law

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed three bills passed by the National Assembly into law.

They are the Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy (Establishment) Bill, 2017, Air Force Institute of Technology of Nigeria (Establishment) Bill, 2017, National Intelligence Agency Pensions (Establishment) Bill, 2017.

3. FG orders NNPC to end fuel scarcity by weekend

The federal executive meeting at its meeting yesterday, ordered Kachikwu and Baru to ensure the current fuel crisis ends by weekend.

The order was given by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo during the FEC meeting.

4. US President, Donald Trump recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital

Donald Trump has recognized Jerusalem as Isreali capital in a major policy shift for the United States.

The action has caused outrage in Palestine and joy in Israel.

5. Judge arrested for demanding N200m bribe

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested a former judge of the appeal court.

The agency alleged Justice Mohammed Tsamiya demanded N200m bribe from one Mr. Nnamdi Orji.

6. FG approves 6 new universities

Six new private universities have been approved by the federal executive council at its meeting yesterday.

They are Admiralty University, Ibusa, Delta State, Spiritan University, Nneochi, Abia State, Precious Cornerstone University, Ibadan, Pamo University of Medical Sciences, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Atiba University, Oyo State, and Eko University of Medical and Health Sciences Lagos.

7. Atiku will not vote at the PDP convention in December.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, will not be allowed to vote at the PDP elective convention according to party regulations.

He would however be allowed to make a speech as disclosed by Prince Dayo Adeyeye.

8. Boko Haram: Army replaces commander of operation lafiya dole

The Nigerian Army has removed Attahiru Ibrahim as the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, the counter-insurgency operation fighting Boko Haram in the North East.

Rogers Nicholas, a Major-General, has been announced as Ibrahim’s replacement.

9. Super Eagles to play England in a friendly match in June

Super Eagles have reportedly secured a friendly match against the Lions of England as part of preparations for Russia 2018 World cup.

This was disclosed by the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mohammed Sanusi.

10. UEFA Champions league group stage concluded

5 teams from the English Premier league qualified for the knock out stages of the champions league.

The draws for the knock out stages will hold on Monday, December 11 at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland by 11:00 GMT (6:00 a.m. ET)
