PDP says no automatic ticket for Atiku.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said it will not give automatic ticket to former vice president Atiku Abubakar to contest for presidential seat in 2019.

Chairman of the PDP National Caretaker Committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, who disclosed this yesterday at the inauguration of PDP National Convention Planning Committee, in Abuja, said the party never adopted any concession plan on automatic ticket for Atiku.

He added that the former vice president has to follow all the rules and regulations to win the ticket.

“PDP did not extend any special concession to Atiku and the party will not extend any special concession to any other person.

“Atiku never asked that we concede anything to him and we never gave him anything. The party members reserve the right to give mandate to anyone they wish to give their mandate to,” he said.

Makarfi also commended Tuesday’s verdict of the Court of Appeal, sitting in Ado Ekiti, which nullified the judgement of a High Court that would have affected the conduct of the December 9 national convention.
