“That is why the Nigerian security agencies have continued to be on the alert, even if their efforts have been largely unobtrusive so as not to disrupt the daily activities of the citizenry.

“Such efforts are routinely stepped up during religious festivals.”

The Information Minister assured Nigerians that the Federal Government would continually put adequate measures in place to safeguard the lives and property of citizens and non-citizens alike.

Mohammed emphasized the military remained steadfast in making certin that the insurgents neither regroup nor regain the capacity to perpetrate organised attacks.

He added that the Federal Government’s sensitisation campaign on security, with the mantra: “if you see something, say something”, would be better broadcast on national radio and television.

The Minister urged Nigerians to be security conscious and promptly report suspicious people and objects to the security agencies.
