Herdsmen beg FG for assistance to set up ranches
Herdsmen seek FG’s aid to set up ranches.
The Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Nasarawa State Chapter, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to support cattle rearers to set up ranches.
The appeal made by the chairman of the association, Alhaji Muhammed Hussein, on Thursday, followed the anti-open grazing law enacted in some states.
Hussein said that the association had been educating and enlightening the herdsmen on the Benue State anti-grazing law.

He added that a 35-man committee had been set up to monitor and check the activities of criminal elements among the Fulani herdsmen terrorising the Nasarawa/Benue states border.
He added that any Fulani caught indulging in any criminal act would be arrested and prosecuted.
He also cautioned Fulani herdsmen migrating to Nasarawa and Benue states against causing trouble, stressing that anyone caught trespassing on farms would be sanctioned.
“Any Fulani cattle rearer found grazing his cows on farms would pay N1m fine or serve a five-year prison sentence,” Hussein said.
