JUST IN: NDLEA Declares Lagos Socialite Wanted Over Alleged Trafficking Of Illicit Drugs

-United States promises continuous support to Nigeria in the fight against drug trafficking.

-This was disclosed during the handing over ceremony of equipment donated to the NDLEA by the US government.

USA partners NDLEA in war against drug trafficking.

Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have taken delivery of seven vehicles and other tactical equipment donated by the government of the United States.

The vehicles and equipment were funded through the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) counter-narcotics and transnational threats program (CTTP) according to a statement from the US consulate.

A break down of items received shows three Honda Accord vehicles, three Toyota Hilux trucks, a Toyota Hiace Van, a smith detection body scan unit, laptop computers, i2 analyst notebook software, digital cameras, electric bill counters, and battery power supply backup devices were delivered to the NDLEA.

Speaking at the handover ceremony which held in Lagos, John Bray, US consul general said his country will continuously seek ways to partner with the NDLEA in the process of fighting drug trafficking in Nigeria.

“We are pleased to support the NDLEA in its efforts to fight drug trafficking,” he said.

“We share the same objective of ridding our societies of the harmful effects of narcotics trafficking and illicit drug use”.

The donations were received by Linus Opara, director of training and manpower development of the , NDLEA.
