Another civil servant in Kogi ends his life.

Another 47-year-old Kogi Civil servant, Abdullahi Uye Zhiya from Oguma in Bassa Local Government of the state has committed suicide.

Naija News gathered that he took his life by intentionally taking a dose of substance suspected to be poisonous chemical.

It was learnt that his frustration may not be unconnected to the non-payment of his salaries of about twelve months.

According to family sources, life had been harsh to Zhiya as everything turned worst for him, adding that he was an industrious man and “because he had been without salary for several months, his situation became unbearable.”

According to them, relatives had been assisting him to alleviate the hardship but it was not enough as he decided to kill himself.

It was learnt that the deceased was the chief store officer at the State Universal Basic Education office in Oguma.

It would be recalled that few months ago, a civil servant in the state, Edward Soje killed himself over alleged unpaid salaries.
