North East: Senate plans to summon Service Chiefs

The Nigerian Senate, has today, Tuesday, said it is likely to summon Service Chiefs.

The summon would be to intimate the Servic Chiefs, in a closed door session, on the resurgence activities of  the Boko Haram sect  in North Eastern states, particularly in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe.

The senator representing Borno South, senator Ali Ndume moved the motion, when the Senate reconvened.

Ndume said: “The insurgency in the North East is resurfacing. If we need to invite the Security Chiefs to brief the Senate in a closed door session, I will formally move a motion at our next sitting.”

Presiding over the plenary session, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, ruled that the matter would be discussed at another legislative day, where a final decision will be taken.
