Buhari directs that the outstanding Paris club refunds be paid before 2017 ends

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered some ministers and the CBN to work closely with State Governors to ensure the payment of outstanding Paris and London Clubs refunds before the end of the 2017.

The ministers instructed to do so include, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma; Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun and the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele.

President Buhari gave the order during a meeting he held with State Governors on Monday, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

In a statement posted on one of the Presidency’s twitter handles, @NGRPresident, the meeting included discussions on the economy of the country, workers’ welfare, Federal-State relations, among other issues.

The tweet reads: “President @MBuhari has directed the Ministers of @FinMinNigeria and Budget & National Planning and Governor @cenbank to commence negotiations with the Governors Forum to enable payment of outstanding Paris & London Club refunds, before the end of the year.”
