Arsenal to hold on to Sanchez and Ozil during the January transfer window.

Arsenal manager, Arsene wenger has disclosed he has no intention of selling the star duo of  Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil during the January transfer window.

Contracts for both star players will expire at the end of the current season and they have been linked with clubs within and outside England but the Arsenal boss insists he has no intention of selling the players.

Sanchez, almost joined Manchester City during the last summer transfer window but the inability of Arsenal to secure a replacement for the Chilean star, means they had to pull out of the deal, while Ozil, is reportedly a subject of interest from clubs such as Manchester United and Barcelona.

Both players may leave Arsenal for free at the end of the season, should they fail to agree new deals with the club at the end of the 2017-18 season.

However, speaking ahead of his team’s Premier League clash with Huddersfield on Wednesday, Arsenal boss, Wenger ruled out selling the pair in the upcoming winter transfer window.

When asked about the continued stay of Alexis and Ozil at Arsenal beyond the January window, Wenger replied: “Yes, of course.

“No doubt. I don’t think every day about that at the moment. As long as they are here, they give their best for the club.

“As far as I’m concerned, they’ll stay until the end of the season unless something unbelievable happens.

“In press conferences, you confront me with speculation, but for me they stay until the end of the season – that’s what we decided at the start of the season.”

When asked about whether Arsenal could still tie down the pair to fresh terms, Wenger added: “Will they stay longer? That’s impossible to say right now, but they have a contract until the end of the season.

“If it’s up to me then, yes, they stay next season. But there’s more to it than that. They have to decide that.”

With Arsenal currently sitting fourth on the premier league table, they will be hoping to win the game against Huddersfield on Wednesday at the Emirates stadium and further secure their spot in the top four.
