7 medical workers lost their lives in motor accident.

A fatal motor accident which occurred on Tuesday, along Kano-Kaduna expressway at Rikolo village has claimed the lives of seven workers of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria.

The Chairman of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital branch of the Union, Comrade Serki Adamu Musa, confirmed the incident, saying six of the workers died on the spot, while the seventh person, Chika, died at Ahmadu Bello Teaching Hospital.

Naija News gathered that the deceased were delegates on an official trip to Keffi, Nassarawa to attend a Federal Health Institutions Medical and Health Workers Forum meeting. The driver lost control which made the vehicle somersault before running into a ditch at about 3.00pm.

According to Musa, the delegates include an executive member from the National Orthopedics Hospital, Dala in Kano and Secretary of the Union at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Kano Branch, Comrade Muhammad Ya’u Ibrahim.

He said others are from the Federal Medical Center Nguru, in Yobe state, Federal Medical Center Azare in Bauchi state, Federal Medical Center, Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State, and Federal Medical Center Katsina.

He said the remains of Comrade Muhammad Ya’u Ibrahim would be buried at 9.00 am today at Dakata while others have been taken to their various states for burial.
