Governors, northern leaders endorse Buhari for second term

Certain prominent political leaders from the North-Central region of the country, have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to seek re-election during the 2019 general elections in the country.

The group on Tuesday, threw their weight behind President Buhari to seek a second term as Nigeria’s democratically elected president at the North Central meeting of the National Committee of Buhari Support Groups in Abuja.

Army includes ability to speak Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa as part of criteria for recruitment

The Nigerian army has issued new guidelines mandating all its personnel to learn the three basic Nigerian languages of Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba before the end of 2018.

In a statement released on Wednesday by army spokesman, Brigadier-General Sani Usman, the directive is part of the army’s new language policy aimed at fostering better communication and relationship with the civilian community.

Gunmen killed FRSC Marshal, abduct two others

A Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Marshal Inspector 1, Ardo Njiga, was killed by some gunmen along Abuja – Kaduna highway while two other marshals were abducted.

Confirming the incident, the Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, identified one of those kidnapped as Senior Road Marshal Assistant, Garba Bello.

Badoo: Gang strikes again, kills mother and two children

The dreaded Badoo cultist group have yet again struck in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state.

The cultists killed with a stone, a mother and her two children who were inside a church.

Confirming the incident on TUesday, the Lagos State Police Command said it had apprehended  two individuals linked to the murder of the three family members in a church premises.

Why President Buhari refused to assent 2 bills

President Muhammadu Buhari has give reasons for his refusal to sign a bill establishing the University of Wukari, sent to him by the National Assembly.

In letters sent to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara respectively, President Buhari expressly stated that his decision not to assent the bill was over the use of wrong phrases in the bill.
