BREAKING: Senate Postpones debate on 2018 budget

The Senate defers debate on 2018 budget.

The Nigerian Senate has declared that it has deferred previously planned debate on the 2018 budget.

The announcement was made by the Senate President Bukola Saraki, at the beginning of Tuesday’s legislative business.

Saraki explained to the house that the debate was postponed to allow the Red Chamber pass the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP), this week.

The Senate President further stated that post of the 2018 budget was to enable the National Assembly’s bureaucracy give copies of the budget proposal to lawmakers.
