20 people feared dead as herdsmen, farmer’s clash.

A clash has occurred between Fulani herdsmen and farmers in Numan local government area of Adamawa State. The clash has resulted in at least 20 deaths with several others sustaining varying degrees of injuries.

The conflict was reported to have ensued on Monday night over the killing of a farmer allegedly by Fulani herdsmen which brought about a revenge attack by the farming communities of Shaforon, Kodomti and Kikan all in Numan local government area of the state.

Naija News learnt that residents in affected areas have absconded from their communities after hearing speculations of alleged counter attack and are taking refuge in the Numan General Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army had promptly been deployed to the warring environment and have restored peace to the area.

Reacting to the incident, Governor Mohammed Jibrilla has sent a delegation led by Deputy Governor, Martins Babale to evaluate the situation.

Accompanied by other security chiefs in the State, the Deputy Governor has called for peace in the area as he said the fatal occurrence is an unfortunate one.

Also, the Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, CP Moses Jitobohhas also assured that the perpetrators  would be brought to book as the police will work tirelessly to arrest the hoodlums.
