Hoodlums attack communities in Zamfara killing, injuring residents.

No fewer than 20 bandits riding on motorbikes ambushed Gidan Maidawa, Wari, Gidan Anna, Tungar Baure and Mallamawa villages in Shinkafi and Maradun local government areas, respectively.

The attack which occurred over the weekend, left several residents dead, with some others sustaining various degrees of injuries.

Zamfara State Police, on Sunday revealed the death of residents in the state by hoodlums.

The Police Command stated that the hoodlums recently began another round of attacks on some communities in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the Police, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muhammad Shehum, said the details of the attacks are still hazy.

However, Shehum added hinted that two local government areas were affected.

“So far, from the information at our disposal, only three people were killed but we are still gathering information to have comprehensive figure of the affected victims from all the villages in the two local government areas,” he said.

Shehum added that the police had already sent its officers, along with other security operatives, to the affected areas to restore peace and order.

He urged members of the public to continually assist the police and other security agencies in fighting criminal activities in the state, by providing relevant information to the police.
