EFCC arrests former SGF, Pius Ayim

Former SGF,, Ayim Pius arrested by EFCC.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Chief Pius Anyim.

Ayim was arrested by the EFCC for his alleged involvement in the Centenary City fraud in Abuja.

Anyim has been detained as in undergoing interrogation by the EFCC officials, SaharaReporters have revealed.

Naija News recalls that Anyim served as SGF under the recent past government of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Recently, the House of Representatives had recommended that Anyim be indicted in connection to the Abuja Centenary City project.

The Lower House also alleged that the former SGF and his associates breached the existing laws guiding the Abuja land swap policy for personal gains.

ANyim was a key part of the project in question, which cost over $18 billion

Naija News also recalls that On February 3,2017,  Anyim, while appearing before the committee, alleged Herman Hembe, the committee’s chairman, of “deep-seated personal bias”.
