Speaking on the journalist’s demise, the MD/CEO of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Nze Uche Nworah, said, “The horrific death of our beloved and hardworking staff, Mr Ik Onubogu has thrown the entire ABS family into mourning.

“IK was a peace loving man and you would never expect that anybody would want to harm him. He was dedicated to his job and would do anything to capture images that will help viewers to make meaning of every developing story.

“We will surely miss him. We cannot speculate at this time the circumstances that led to his death as the police are already working hard to unravel what happened. His death once again reminds us all of the dangers journalists face in Africa in the course of discharging their professional responsibilities.

“Our thoughts remain with his family, particularly his wife who recently gave birth. We ask our friends, colleagues and associates to remember the Onubogu family in their prayers during this difficult time.

“ABS management will release another statement on this in due time”.
