Despite the open declaration of the Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun that he would support governorship candidates from Ogun West,

One of Ogun State Commissioners, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, in charge of Commerce and Industry, has announced his plan to vie for the office of the governor, ahead of the 2019 elections.

Ashiru made an official declaration after emerging the winner among eight other candidates, for the race from Ogun East Senatorial District comprising Ijebu and Remo zones of the state.

Ashiru was emerged winner, through a consensus process sequel to a meeting held by a four member selection committee of the Ijebu/Remo governorship Agenda forum.

The commissioner and governorship aspirant, speaking shortly after the meeting, applauded the committee for the process which was according to him transparent.

He hence promised to continue with the rebuilding mandate of the present administrator if elected in 2019.

However, Ashiru’s declaration follows the incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun’s announcement to support governorship candidates from Ogun West.
