Anambra Election: My life is in danger – Obiano cries out

The Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, on Tuesday, said his security details have been withdrawn, thereby, posing imminent danger to his life against the forthcoming November 18 gubernatorial election in the state.

Obiano, who said this in Awka during an election stakeholders’ meeting organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), described the move as ominous.

Biafra: FG speaks on Nnamdi Kanu’s whereabouts

The Federal Government on Tuesday told a Federal High Court in Abuja that Nnmadi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is hiding to avoid prosecution.

The Federal Government, according to DailyPost, said this while urging the Acting Chief Judge of the High Court, Justice Abdu Kafarati, to dismiss IPOB’s application to quash the proscription order.

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, on Tuesday, granted an order for the temporary forfeiture of N350 million allegedly linked to wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience Jonathan.

The presiding judge, Justice Hadiza Rabiu-Shagari gave the directive at the court’s sitting on Tuesday.

Zimbabwe’s military appeared to be in control of the country Wednesday as generals denied staging a coup but used state television to vow to target “criminals” close to President Robert Mugabe.

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, has made himself available for probe over the statues he erected in honour of South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma and Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

Recall the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), had on Sunday, accused Okorocha of wasting over N1billion of public funds over the statues for the two African leaders and thereafter called for a probe into his action.

Senate orders IGP to restore Obiano’s aides within 24-hrs

The Senate has today, Wednesday directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Ibrahim Idris to restore security aides of Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra within the next 24 hours.

The order followed a Point of Order raised by Deputy Minority Leader, Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha during plenary in Abuja.
