Biafra: FG speaks on Nnamdi Kanu’s whereabouts

The Federal Government on Tuesday told a Federal High Court in Abuja that Nnmadi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is hiding to avoid prosecution.

The Federal Government, according to DailyPost, said this while urging the Acting Chief Judge of the High Court, Justice Abdu Kafarati, to dismiss IPOB’s application to quash the proscription order.

South-East Visit: President Buhari conferred 2 chieftancy titles

President Muhammadu Buhari has been awarded two chieftaincy titles in Abakiliki, Ebonyi State.

President Buhari is at present on a 2-day working visit to the state, a visit which was said not to be for political reasons.

One of Buhari’s new titles is Ochioha NdiIgbo 1 (Igbo Warrior), was bestowed on him by South East traditional council of rulers headed by Eze Eberechi Dick.

Super Eagles and NFF sign money agreement ahead Russia 2018

A historic and binding agreement that will eliminate all manner of rancour and distractions around Nigeria’s preparation and participation at the 21st FIFA World Cup finals in Russia was signed in the Russian city of Krasnodar on Tuesday morning. Court orders temporary forfeiture of Patience Jonathan’s N350m

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, on Tuesday, granted an order for the temporary forfeiture of N350 million allegedly linked to wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience Jonathan.

The presiding judge, Justice Hadiza Rabiu-Shagari gave the directive at the court’s sitting on Tuesday.

Power slips from Mugabe as military steps in

Zimbabwe’s military appeared to be in control of the country Wednesday as generals denied staging a coup but used state television to vow to target “criminals” close to President Robert Mugabe.

Mugabe’s decades-long grip on power was dramatically weakened as military vehicles blocked roads outside the parliament in Harare and senior soldiers delivered a late-night television address to the nation.

I am ready for probe over erection of statues – Okorocha

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, has made himself available for probe over the statues he erected in honour of South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma and Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

Recall the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), had on Sunday, accused Okorocha of wasting over N1billion of public funds over the statues for the two African leaders and thereafter called for a probe into his action.

Anambra Election: My life is in danger – Obiano cries out

The Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, on Tuesday, said his security details have been withdrawn, thereby, posing imminent danger to his life against the forthcoming November 18 gubernatorial election in the state.

Obiano, who said this in Awka during an election stakeholders’ meeting organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), described the move as ominous.
