Alex Ekwueme taken overseas for intensive treatment

One-time Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, who had collapsed in his Enugu residence, weeks ago, has been flown abroad on Sunday for medical treatment.

Naija News recalls that the elder statesman has been receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of Memphys Hospital of Neurosurgery, Enugu, where doctors diagnosed him of chest infection.

Ekwueme was flown abroad around 8:30am in a white air ambulance with registration number N605 AJ, from the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

However, Ekwueme’s destination was undisclosed as family members and medical practitioners at Memphys Hospital refused to disclose the country the octogenarian would be treated.

The air ambulance that transported Ekwueme on his medical trip, arrived the airport on Saturday night, Daily Post.

The elder statesman was accompanied by some relatives on his trip, while others, bade him farewell at the airport.
