Wike, Amaechi’s aides clash in Port Harcourt (Video)

Governor Nyesom Wike and the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, are currently trading blames after security aides clashed in Port Harcourt on Saturday.

Gov. Wike claims that he was attacked by officers of the police special anti robbery squad attached to Mr. Amaechi’s convoy.
The spokesperson to the governor, Simeon Nwakaudu, in a statement said Wike was on project inspection when he was attacked at Nwanja Junction on Trans-Amadi Road, Port Harcourt.

Idris vs Misau: No law prevents me from having romantic relationship with a policewoman – IGP

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, IG challenged Senator Isa Misau to cite a section of the law that prevents him from having romantic relationship with a policewoman.

Senator Isa Misau,  a lawmaker representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, had accused him the IGP of having an affair with a junior female colleague.

Obasanjo reveals what APC and PDP must do ahead of 2019 elections

As the race for the 2019 general election draws closer, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has said both the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, need fresh ideas to promote democracy in the country.

Obasanjo said this when he received PDP national chairmanship aspirants, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, at his Presidential Library, in Abeokuta on Saturday.

One dead after herdsmen attack in Kogi state

Attack by men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen has left one person dead in the government reservation area bordering Dekina and Omala Local Councils in the Eastern Senatorial district of Kogi State.

Naija News gathered that one Yahaya Amodu, a timber merchant in company of six other labourers went to reservation area on Thursday to fetch timbers that have already been cut preparatory to be transported home.
