11 persons shot dead by gunmen in Plateau.

Some unknown gunmen on Tuesday night killed eleven people along Rim, Riyom Local Government Area of Northern Plateau State.

Confirming the tragic incident, the Police Public Relations Office of the Plateau State Police Command, Terna Tyopev, said the victims were returning from a village market in Makera when they were attacked by the gunmen.

Naija News learnt that some days ago, two people were killed and two others injured in an attack on Jol village in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

“Eleven people who were returning from a weekly village market of Makera were shot dead at about 7:30 p.m., four others are injured.”

“No arrest yet, but investigation are ongoing, and we shall definitely get to the roots of this,” Tyopev said.

The police spokesman said no one had been arrested in connection with the attack as the identity of the attackers were not known.

He added that the police were on top of the situation.
